About Club Volleyball

Club volleyball is an avenue for players ages 9-18 to pursue advanced training and competition.  Players tryout for teams within their respective age group and are placed on teams based on their ability and potential. Club volleyball is an excellent way to help players improve, prepare for high school, and gain collegiate exposure. 


Our National Level Club teams compete in both local and national tournaments. Our Regional Level Club teams compete locally. The local club tournaments generally run from early January to late April. National level club tournament season ends in late June. Our club volleyball teams will compete in events run by USA Volleyball, AAU, JVA, as well as local organizations.

NATIONAL CLUB

Our National Level Club Volleyball is for athletes ready to compete against the best players in the country. Our National Level Teams are the foundation of Nebraska Elite. They are what we are known for. National teams travel to compete at USA National Qualifiers against the top competition in the Nation. Over the past 10 years, no other club in Nebraska has sent more teams to Nationals than Nebraska Elite. We believe that if you want to be the best, you must compete against the best!

REGIONAL CLUB

Our Regional Level Club Volleyball  is a great opportunity for families to choose the right program for their family. This program has a fixed cost (no additional fees), a shortened season (December 1- April), competes locally (less school and work conflict), and provides the same great training that has made Nebraska Elite the top club in Nebraska. Our Regional Club Teams is a great option for families wanting the club volleyball experience without as much commitment.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

Our Youth Development Program, also know as YDP, is a lighter version of club volleyball for Grades 3-7th. YDP is committed to skill training first! The goal of YDP is to help players progress towards more competitive programs (NVL, Regional Club Teams, and National Club Teams). Players will be placed into one of three levels. Each level will focus on a progression of skills. As players complete the competencies expected from each level, they will be progressed to the next level or program.

National Club Teams

Our National Level Teams are the foundation of Nebraska Elite. They are what we are known for. National teams will travel to compete at USA National Qualifiers against the top competition in the Nation. Our top teams will play in the most challenging competition level in USA volleyball which is called OPEN. We do so because we can compete at that level. Over the past 10 years, no other club in Nebraska has qualified more teams for USA Nationals in Open than Nebraska Elite. We believe that if you want to be the best, you must compete against the best!

Preparation for National Team Tryouts

We are excited to announce our Pre-tryout camps and Open Gyms for 2023. Open Gym and Pre-Tryout Camps are a great opportunity for players to be seen by the prospective coaches prior to club tryouts. Our club directors will be present and evaluating players. We want to make sure the tryout process selects the best players for each team. We know tryouts are stressful and want to give players multiple opportunities to be seen as well as help them perform well at tryouts. 


Our pre-tryout camps are limited to a specific number of players due to court space. Please sign-up early to secure your spot. Please only attend the camp that is specific to your age group. Camps are open to players of all ages and abilities.

National Pre-Tryout Camp Dates

Pre-Tryout Camps are available to all players any club or ability level. Our pre-tryout clinics will focus on preparing players for their club tryout. Many of the coaches picking teams will be coaching the camp. The camp format will include a special focus on technical development, quality repetition, and tryout plan readiness.

Open Gyms Dates

Open gyms are available to all players any club or ability level that have completed their high school season. Open gyms are player directed. There will be no coach instruction during Open Gyms. Open gyms are free and open to the public! There is no registration. Just show up and play volleyball. Each open gym is allocated to a specific age group. Please only attend open gyms appropriate to your age group.

Tryouts for the 2023-2024 club volleyball season are just around the corner. Tryouts for the following age divisions are as follows:

We will be collecting a check for $700 for 10-14U teams and $800 for 15-18U teams at tryouts. All parents and players are expected to attend an all-club meeting at the LaVista Conference Center, 12520 Westport Parkway, LaVista, NE  68128 on the appropriate date:

18U National Team Information

18U is Focused on College Readiness, Recruiting, & Finishing Strong!

The tryout process for our 18U is different than all other age groups. We offer spots to all returning players to play 18s. We always have some spots available and need additional players to join! Rules Meeting

All coaches and players are required to pass 2023-2024 rules certification through Great Plains Volleyball to participate in tournaments. If you do not attend the all-club rules meeting, you may complete an online rules certification that may last up to 4 hours.

Recruiting Seminar

Over the last 15 years, no other club in the state of Nebraska has produced more collegiate scholarship athletes than Nebraska Elite. Our recruiting seminar will help you learn more about the recruiting process, contacting coaches, and how properly negotiate for a scholarship.


Take control of the college recruiting process and get proactive. There is only one sure thing in recruiting; if you aren’t talking to coaches then you aren’t being recruited.

Regional Club Teams

The Regional Program is a great opportunity for families to choose the right program for their family. This program will have a fixed cost (no additional fees), a shortened season (December 1- April 30), competes locally (less school and work conflict), and provides the same great training that has made Nebraska Elite the top club in Nebraska. Regional teams will practice twice a week, compete in competitive local tournaments, and the 13-17U groups will compete in the ASICS President's Day Tournament. The addition of the regional program has offered more opportunities for players to train for high school volleyball and potentially a scholarship someday. Between our Youth Development Program and our National Level Program, the Elite pipeline offers players and families to pick the program that best meets their needs and goals. Read more.

Rules Meeting

Need More Information About Club Volleyball at Nebraska Elite?

  • Is Nebraska Elite more expensive than everyone else?

    No. While Nebraska Elite's prices are comparable to other clubs, our results have far exceeded the results of our competitors. Our results are process driven. It's a combination of the competitive environment and detailed skills training. Therefore, giving you a better return on your investment.

  • Do you allow multi sport athletes?

    Of Course. We have had players win state championships in volleyball as well as basketball, track, soccer, and tennis in High School. We've even had a Miss Nebraska beauty queen, a NASA intern, fashion models, trap shooters, and over a hundred National Honor Society Members over the years.

  • Do you practice 4 days a week?

    No. Our teams practice 2 times per week. Some teams have additional practices. We offer optional positional training that some families choose to take advantage of. All of our 15-18s participate in Motivera workouts for injury prevention and performance enhancement. Additional training is available, but not required.

  • What if I don’t make a team?

    We are the largest club in the region and have our own facility. We have the ability to add teams at tryouts! We always have more coaches than we need for the number of teams we expect to form. For all players that are14 years and younger, we have a two additional options if players don't make a national team: our Regional Team program or our Youth Development Program. Both programs can help players improve to try and make a national team next year!

  • I don’t want to be on a second team in an age group?

    In the last five years, our second teams have finished in the top 3 at a national event 9 times. Our 162's won the Colorado Crossroads Qualifier four years ago and our 152's won the Northern Lights Qualifier three years ago. Our team numbers aren't important.  Our focus as a club is to improve every day.  

  • I don’t know if I am good enough to make Nebraska Elite?

    You won’t know until you tryout. Why would you want to risk missing out on the opportunity to become a part of one of the most successful clubs in the country!
